Product Review
A few weeks ago I told you about the
GM Main Street in Motion. This past weekend I test drove the Chevy Volt to see if it was all hype, or if it was as really as good as the company was claiming. What was so incredible about this one small car that many people were claiming it could make or break the company? Sure it was a hybrid, but Toyota has been selling those for 11 years now.
A little back story:
General Motors started thinking about building a plug in electric hybrid
called the Volt some time in 2006, and there was a concept that made
the car show rounds in 2007. Four years, $750 million dollars, and several patents later cars are sitting in showrooms waiting for
you to drive.

Shop Smarter
This week's post isn't about saving money as much as it's about saving time. But if you aren't in the market for a new car at the moment, consider this a free form of recreation. General Motors "
Main Street in Motion" is rolling into your town soon and it's a traveling circus of test drives.
Oh, and yes, the Volt electric/gas plug-in hybrid will be there.
Test drives are always free, but if you're like me after a while you start feeling guilty about wasting the salesman's time. And even though just about anyone can get a test drive of a Honda Civic or Accord, if the salesman doesn't think you are serious, you aren't taking the new Corvette for a spin.
