Money Saving Tips
A few days ago, DealPro and beauty deal guru
Annie reached out to her fellow DealPros for help:
"My husband's car recently kicked the bucket, and
although I'm pretty good at finding good deals on clothes and makeup and
such, car shopping is not my strong suit. I'd love any advice you might
have on scoring the best deal on a car. Thought Savings.com [DealPros] would be
a good place to start."
When you have access to the best
money-saving minds around, why not take advantage? Check out what advice Annie's colleagues had to offer:

Perhaps some of you will recall my last post: a delightfully easy
how-to video on how to make a delightfully
easy gourmet pesto pizza using store-bought dough, Classico brand pesto and canned tomatoes. I
emailed the video to my good friend and chef Todd Singleton, aka
FoodieDaddy and he wrote back:
"I LOVED it and it gave me an idea. We should do a high tech and low tech series on specific dishes. Now I want to
do the same pizza from scratch dough to scratch pesto....
You're so entertaining on camera! It leaves us wanting more!"
No, I didn't need to leave the gratuitous compliment in there. And yes,
the "we" Todd speaks of is Todd and his wife, who happens to be my best
friend. So you could argue that they're not completely unbiased. But that's
neither here nor there.
The fact remains: Heather vs. FoodieDaddy...it's on.

There are lots of theories on pick-up lines. Some say they only work if they're original. Some say it's all about the delivery. Some say they never work at all. While I have opinions of my own on the matter, the only thing that we proved with this contest is that asking a girl if she farted doesn't work.
Not shocking, perhaps, but at least now we know.
Anyway, the
five pickup line videos I recorded last week have had some
time to marinate on YouTube. They've gotten tons of views and a good
number of comments, and now it's time to announce which video got the
most comments. The person who submitted the pickup line that fueled the
most comments wins a brand new Apple iPad (
once they're available for
sale at Apple online).
And the winner is...

Valentine's Day is over, but if you missed the boat on taking your sweetheart out for a night on the town, have no fear. Thanks to the wonder of Twitter, I stumbled across a tweet from The Grove LA. talking about their
Date Night promotion.
I live a few blocks from The Grove, so naturally my interest was piqued.

Back in the 2008 election cycle, Barack Obama unveiled his Credit Card Bill of Rights and he's acted on that promise with new regulations that go into effect on February 22nd. These regulation will affect your current credit card plan or applying for a card in the future, so here's what you need to know about the new laws on the books. There are a lot of changes that make up the new regulations, but here are the ones that will have the greatest impact.

Well here we are again my friends. We've reached the end of another week and so, as has become the habit, I present to you another gadget that begs the question: Who in their right mind comes up with these things. I know, no one in their right mind would. Here now, because you demanded it (
Did you? Really?) is the
Snore Relief Wrist Band.

You might have noticed that my roundup was mysteriously absent from the Savings blog feed last Friday. No? Oh... well, anyways, that's because I was in the car exploring America's lovely Gulf Coast and didn't have any luck procuring some stray interwebs.
I apologize.
I'm still in recovery mode from spending Super Bowl XLIV on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, but I suppose I can scrounge up some stories for you folks now that I'm back to work.

Budget conscious couples all over will most likely be avoiding the expense of overpriced flowers, bling-y jewelry and gourmet chocolate in favor of a low-key, yet romantic night in. After enjoying a delicious
Beef and Mushrooms dinner--or a simple but tasty
gourmet pesto pizza--followed by
chocolate dipped strawberries, no doubt more than a few of you will cuddle up together to watch a romantic movie.
And here's where the trouble ensues...

Product Review
Thus far in my life, I've been pretty lucky that my two great passions
have aligned so perfectly. I'm referring, of course, to:
A) playing video
games a lot and
B) laying on my sofa.
However, there is one area
wherein these clash dramatically: actually going to get new video games.
The experience is generally horrible. You have to contend with crowds,
little kids, parking and disinterested employees. If you order online,
returning crappy games is a hassle at best and impossible at worst.
