To help kick off the first day off summer, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is giving everyone who wears flip flops into their locations a free smoothie on the 21st. It's my preferred footwear, but unfortunately, I don't have a location near me.

This week, there are a couple more Father's Day freebies. Get dad (or yourself) a free Redbox rental and a free meal at Spaghetti Warehouse. You can also get a free full size flat bread at Chili's (this offer is for everyone, not just dad).

Lowe's Build & Grow Clinic is next weekend, the kids can make a Monster's University Trunk that's adorable! The class and supplies are both free!

A serial number for your Sodastream is required for registering (they show you where to find it on your Sodastream).

Freebie #9 - Smoothie at Tropical Smoothie Cafe - Wear your flip flops into any Tropical Smoothie Cafe location on June 21st from 2pm - 7pm and get a free Jetty Punch Smoothie.

There are some pretty good freebies this week. If you're a military member and going to be out and about on Memorial Day, stop in at Hooter's or Shoney's to get a freebie.

Keeping it "healthy"? You can get some free Medool Dates for a snack or a 30 day supply of vitamin supplements. For good eats, you can score a free pack of hot dogs this week just by filling out a form.

You can also get cleaning wipes, a free Kotex sample pack (3 to choose from) and a free can of cat food too. I always sign up for pet freebies because I can donate them to my local animal shelter.

Freebie #8: Physicians Formula Super BB All In One Powder Balm - The offer goes live on April 30th at 5pm EST. You have to get the secret word from their Facebook wall (they will post it at 5pm on 4/30), then be one of the first 1,000 to fill in the form on this page to get the freebie.

Reminder: Zippo Lighter - Goes live on Marlboro's site every Monday at 11am EST until June 16th (2,500 each week). Register or log in and check under "My Marlboro". They will show up in your offers. If you haven't registered with Marlboro, you should because they have great freebies! The site does ask a lot of personal questions, but this is to make sure you are 21 or older. I've been a member for several years and never had any problems.

Earth Day...April 22...let's dedicate a day to celebrate the planet! Time to pull on your eco-friendly gloves and dig deep for some cool ways to celebrate for free right? Or you can read this post for tips! Here are 10 things you can do for free to celebrate Earth Day.

1. Upcycle some old tees into trendy accessories at a local Michaels.

2. Grab a free cup-a-joe at Caribou when you take in a reusable mug.

3. Pick up a free packet of seeds at Pottery Barn and have some fun in the garden!

4. Go get a few books and possibly even a movie from your local library. Always free - always fun!

5. Near a Disney Store? Take in 5 plastic bags to recycle and get a free reusable bag in return (you can pick from either Brave or Cars 2 themed bags).

6. Got a hankerin' for even more free reusable bags? Targets giving out free bags plus coupons! Coupons you say? Oh, I'm all over that freebie!

Listen to thousands of free audiobooks on your iPhone

If you spend a lot of time in the car, nothing beats audiobooks.

Of course, unless you check them out from the library, they don't come cheap. Even if you subscribe to a service like Audible, you're looking at around $15 minimum per book.

Thankfully, there's a dirt-cheap alternative: Inkstone Software's Audiobooks Free for iOS serves up more than 5,000 public-domain titles. True to its name, the app costs nothing.

I suppose it goes without saying that you won't find Stephen King or Toni Morrison in this collection. Rather, Audiobooks Free connects you with the LibriVox library, where you'll find books like "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," "The Count of Monte Cristo," "Great Expectations," and "Gulliver's Travels."

As I noted above, these are all public-domain works, so there's sure to be some material you've never heard of or have no interest in hearing.

Fortunately, you can search the catalog or browse by various filters, including Popular, Categories, Recent Additions, and Inkstone Recommends. This last reflects the developer's refreshingly honest declaration that "not all the audiobooks in this collection are great. They are narrated by volunteers, so the quality varies. Some are incredible, as good as any professional recording, but others are frankly amateurish. So we have made it easy to find the great and special books in the catalog through the curated 'Inkstone Recommends' section."

Those recommendations give Audiobooks Free an edge over apps like Audiobooks - 2,947 for free, which pull from the same LibriVox library but don't recommend any good stuff.

Also, Audiobooks Free incorporates a solid audio player, with features like 30-second skip, bookmarks, a sleep timer, and slider-adjustable playback speed. The only real hitch is that you have to sit through a short commercial before downloading a book.

If you want even more selection, the $1.99 Audiobooks HQ brings the book count to over 7,200, adding selections from sources like Podiobooks Live and Globe Radio Repertory.

Either way, this is a great option for fans of classic literature. The next time you're stuck in crosstown traffic, let Huck Finn help you pass the time.
