In my old life, the start of September meant the start of business trips. For others it means heading off to college, or traveling to New York Fashion Week, or getting a post-Labor Day vacay under your belt for a reduced rate. Add it all up, and September is a big month for travel.
Layovers, stale airplane air, jet lag, bad circulation from sitting for long hours… travel can be pretty uncomfortable. A way to make it more enjoyable is to dress appropriately. By dressing with care for your next flight, you will feel great, look great, and may even receive better customer service. Taking cues from celebrity travel veterans like Jennifer Aniston, I have complied a list of items for a chic and comfortable flight:

Could such an event occur such as "Rise of the Planet of the Apes?" We have dabbled in the notion that A.I. machines could one day take over the world. Or that aliens would invade our world. So now, Hollywood puts this idea in our heads that one day we might live in a world controlled by apes (
I feel a political joke coming on, but I'll leave that up to you).
But what if I'm an ape and not human? How will I manage to upkeep an ape body full of hair? I'll knuckle walk over to
Target to get eight essential supplies.

Last Sunday, the
MTV Video Music Awards was held at the Nokia Center at L.A. live, and as always, delivered some unforgettable moments. The program also drew about 12.4 million viewers, the networks largest audience ever, with tributes to Amy Winehouse, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson. Aside from honoring musicians and performances, the VMAs are also an inspirational hub for style and beauty.
These are my favorite makeup looks from the 2011 VMAs and how you can re-create them for less:

Hurricane Irene struck a few days ago and some people in the Northeast are still without power and other basic services. This got me thinking about some basic emergency preparedness and how sometime the old solutions are still the best. You may get all your news on your
iPhone via The HuffPo, or eat only microwave organic food normally--but most likely that's not gonna cut it after an earthquake, hurricane or other natural disaster.
Here are ten items you are going to want stashed away somewhere in case of emergency.

I recently wrote about contemporary
style icon Rachel Bilson and how to achieve her style on any budget. It's great to find celebrity style role models--while we all can't afford the fashions worn by celebrities, we can use them as inspiration and as a tool to accomplish our own personal style on our budget. Celebrities are great style icons because it's easy to find pictures of them dressed up or down, no matter the season.
While Rachel Bilson is a favorite style icon of mine, there are several other women in the media these days who are just as sartorially inspiring. One is Olivia Palermo, who is a bit more daring with her fashion choices yet has a very definite personal style.
Here are some tips to achieve Olivia Palermo's style no matter what's in your wallet.

A few weeks ago, I was asked by a fellow
DealPro for my tips on getting perfect eyebrows. I'm always flattered when someone compliments my brows because I really do take the time to maintain them and keep them looking polished. Eyebrows frame your eyes and face, so it's important to keep them well-groomed and choosing the right length, shape, and color can really enhance your appearance.
Here are my tips for getting the perfect eyebrows:

Last week I talked about
tire sizing and helped you figure just what all the numbers mean when shopping for tires. Today I'm digging deeper into the alpha-numerical alphabet soup on marked on the wall of the tires.
Tires being one of the largest contributors to the safety of a vehicle, and the only thing that touches the ground, there are a bunch of rules and regulations that manufacturers need to meet in order to sell them in this country.

When we think of rainy days, we usually think of spring. As we all know, April showers bring May flowers! The thing is, it rains during other seasons, and come late summer and fall your candy pink umbrella and lemon yellow slicker may seem too spring-like to work with your wardrobe. I searched the web for some of my favorite fashion for inclement weather.
All of these pieces are long on style but short on price, ensuring you stay comfortable, dry, and stylish all season long:

Here's a cool website that I regret not finding earlier…
Shop It To Me. The Internet personal shopping service scours the Web for you and then sends you a shout out when a sale comes up. It's like having a network of shopping-addicted girlfriends texting you from the mall.

My daily-driven truck needs tires. Also the race car I've been shoveling time and money into needs a set of tires as well, because the factory specified tires for a 1979 Ford Futura are not the tires you want for hours of fast driving on a road course.
So, since I've been looking a a lot of tires online, I figured I would share some tire basics with you folks.
Then when the time comes to replace your car tires you'll have a better idea of what you are getting into. Forewarned is forearmed, as they say.

For a long while, I couldn't find any celebrity's personal style to be inspiring. Instead of looking to present actresses and singers, I kept looking to the past for inspiration from Jackie, Audrey, Grace and Katherine. It seemed every "It" girl was either dressed like a mini version of Rachel Zoe, or like a Playboy pinup.
No more--there are many fresh faces on the scene who have inspirational as well as wearable personal style. One of my favorites is Rachel Bilson, whose personal style is wearable and is possible on most any wardrobe budget.
Here are a few tips on how to achieve Rachel Bilson's style on a dime:
