Recycling breaks down used materials so they're ready for reuse.
Upcycling takes recycling to a whole new level and creates
something new from recycled materials. These designers salvaged old
records, broken glass and even unused lightening insulators, and
used them to create unique kitchen accessories.
Thanks to upcycling, you can accessorize your kitchen with
something different. (
You won't find these items mass produced
at a department store.) And do something good for the
environment to boot. Best of all, every product costs under $50--so
you can buy recycled kitchen accessories cheap.

It's only January, but I'm already wondering what the beauty trends will be this throughout this year. I was checking out the
2012 Fashion Week in New York and I noticed some pretty exciting trends that were sported on the runway for hair and makeup that I'm hoping will be sought-after for the year.
These are a few of my favorite looks for 2012 that are fun, cheap and easy to recreate:

I'm married now, but I was a bachelor up until very recently. In fact there was a time when my roommate and I were both working lousy jobs--plus he was going to college full time and our combined earnings were barely paying the rent and keeping the lights on. The numbers escape me, but I'm pretty sure we were living on $5-10 a day for all three meals. Needless to say, we weren't eating like kings, unless you are talking about the old Henny Youngman joke: "
Here King, here King..."

With the start of each new year, there is a whole new list of hot fashion trends. Weeding through the crazy, the unwearable, and the flash-in-the-pan fads, here are some trends that I believe will be big in 2012 and are also quite wearable.

Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo likes to quote lines from movies. Tony is a true blue movie fan. You will find him at the cinema with a box of popcorn and nachos nestled in his seat. Oh, he won't have a date. You see, it's been a hard year for Tony in the romance department. But that won't keep him from the cinema.
If you missed 2011's highest grossing movies in the USA you can rent them through
Netflix.

It's a brand new year and I hope that it will be everyone's greatest year yet! A good way to start it off is by practicing good habits---beauty habits, that is. If you want to look your best all year long, follow these tips and continually make them a part of your routine:

I'm convinced that you can have the best furniture and the best decorator and still have a house that looks junky. I'm also convinced that you can have second-hand furniture and home decor items that were all purchased at Goodwill and have a fabulous looking house.
One of the best ways to make your home warm and inviting is to make sure it is clean and organized.
When our stuff is everywhere, our home looks less beautiful and it feels much less peaceful. This year, I've included "get more organized" in my list of resolutions. I've been looking for various organizational supplies and I thought I'd share some of my favorite places to find great home organization supplies like boxes, bins and shelving units.

Image by puuikibeach via Flickr This is it. This is the year. You're going down two jean sizes. Or three! But you're not sure how you're going to be able to control your urges without some kind of diet pills, and you can't imagine how you're going to fit that into your already-tight budget.
Solve both problems (
but save that money instead of using it on diet pills!) by being a better grocery shopper. How? Read on.

I was looking for tape to wrap my presents with last week when I
came across something interesting:
It was one of the perils of online shopping: "things in pictures
may not resemble real-life object." In this case, ugly sheer shirt,
which resembled in cut, style, and color something that a 50's
housewife would love. Unfortunately, I am neither from the 50s OR a
housewife, so I carefully put aside the item to be returned along
with its receipt and prepared to return it by mail.
That was from LAST Christmas.
