Worst NBA Deals of this Decade

Nobody likes buying something that's doesn't end up working.  Imagine if you had a 50/50 chance of buying something that didn't work.  You'd probably do a lot more research before buying something.  However, in the NBA, that doesn't seem to be the case.  Here are some of the worst buys in the history of the NBA:

  • When the Washington Wizards drafted Kwame Brown 8 years ago, analysts said he was going to be the next Jordan.  Everyone thought the Wizards were finally going to be a playoff team.  After 8 seasons, I think it's safe to say that Kwame Brown is not going to be the next Jordan.  He's averaged a whopping 6.9 points a game throughout his sad career.  Brown should have been bought with a warranty because if he was on my team I wouldn't even want to trade him.  I'd just try to return him.
  • This next deal actually involves Kwame Brown as well (I don't have anything against the guy, it's just coincidence).  This was a trade for Pau Gasol to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie, the draft rights to Marc Gasol, and first round picks in 2008 and 2010 to the Grizzlies.  Why the Grizzlies would ever agree to this trade boggles my mind.  It's about as smart as buying something without using a coupon (not that the two are related at all).
  • The next deal involves Stephon Marbury.  His terrible attitude forced the Knicks to ban him from playing.  He tried to defy this ban by attending one of the games as an audience member.  When asked how he felt about being banned during an interview, he responded that he didn't really care because he was still getting paid.  Pretty good deal for Stephon Marbury, terrible deal for the Knicks.

These are just some of the terrible deals that have gone down in the NBA in the last decade.  If you ask me, NBA managers need to enlist some Savings.com DealPros to help them make their decisions next time.  At least you don't have to get ripped off like they did and you can go to Savings.com and make sure you get the best deals.  Speaking of deals--for the best deals and latest news on video games, make sure to follow me on Twitter @YasarSavings.
