It's that time of year when magazines, TV shows, blogs, and cocktail conversations all turn to "Top Tens."  I wanted to share my top ten beauty discoveries of 2009.  Not all of these products are new, but they were all new to me and quickly became my favorites.

Here they are!  My "Top Ten" for '09!

  1. Bliss Body Butter - Vanilla Bergamot - After the Save Up, I was converted to the super rich moisturizing power of Bliss's classic body butter.  When I tried in in Vanilla Bergamot, I was in love.
  2. Sue Devitt Intensifier Pencil - After I got a freebie of this product as a GWP from Beauty.com, I was hooked.  The copper color brings out blue eyes and looks subtle.  It's a great way to go from day to night.
  3. Josie Maran Argan Oil - A dropper full of this highly potent moisturizer can cure chapped lips, mend ragged cuticles and even smooth split ends. Think of it as a Swiss Army Knife for your skin and hair.  This year I took to keeping a mini of this oil in my bag.
  4. Red Flower Shower Gel - I had loved the classic scents of Red Flower candles, but little did I know the gentle, SLS free, shower gel in Moroccan Rose could give my skin a delicate scent all day while never drying it out.
  5. Dermalogica Microfoliant - No more rough scrubs for this delicate mug.  I started using the gentle but effective exfoliant this summer and haven't looked back.  Just turn the powder to a paste to exfoliate through gentle sloughing and enzyme action.  Your skin will look baby smooth.
  6. Benetint Lip Balm - Although certainly not new, Benefit Benetint lip balm was new to me.  The delicate, rose shade made my lips look rosy, while the moisturizing properties kept them soft.  When my pot ran out, I tried Neutrogena's similar gloss and had equally rosy results.
  7. Cover Girl Lash Blast - I thought I would be using Benefit's BADGal Lash for life until a friend turned me on to the little orange tube that delivers full, soft lashes.  Coveted by makeup artists and high schoolers alike, this mascara is one cheap thrill that stayed in my makeup bag all year long.
  8. Coralista Blush from Benefit - If you read a beauty blog this year, you were bound to hear about this new product.  This popular new blush has that same, one-size-fits-all glow you loved in NARS blockbuster blusher, Orgasm--but without the shimmer.  That means you can look flushed and lovely without looking done up.
  9. Neil George Gooseberry Oil - Last year I went gaga for Moroccanoil, but the cutting edge ingredient in Neil George's products is even more rare.  You won't find Gooseberry oil in your local drugstore beauty aisle, but with the results you get from just a couple of drops of this product, it's no doubt there will be copycats by next year.  Aryuvedic doctors believe Goosberry oil, or amla, can even prevent premature greying and hair loss.  All I know is it makes my hair shiny and strong all day long.
  10. Makeup For Ever HD Powder - With a single swoosh, This revolutionary HD powder from Make Up For Ever conceals blemishes, evens skin tone, and masks wrinkles.  It's feather light and micro-fine, so it barely feels like you're wearing makeup.  Plus, it's lack of pigment means it works on everyone so it's perfect for taking to a bridal suite or buying for all your makeup-conscious friends.
