Shop Smarter
I love discovering new beauty products and tools, and this year I've seen quite a number of hot new releases. Some of them definitely just look like a bunch of hype, but some I found were genius.
Check out some of these new cool, innovative products that made their debut this year:
Instyler Topstyler C-Shell CurlersI never thought I'd see another set of hot rollers again, but a few months ago I came across the
Instyler TopStyler C-Shell Curlers. They're not quite the old-fashioned hot rollers though. It's a wave and curling tool with 20 shell-like clamps that are ceramic on the inside. They are really easy to use and heat up in less than five minutes. You just twirl your hair around your fingers and fasten on and clip it with a heated shell clamp. They're perfect if you're always in a rush and need quick volume and style.
$99
LUSH Ultrablast Toothy Tabs
Earlier this year LUSH came out with toothpaste tablets called "
Toothy Tabs." They are little solid toothpaste tablets that foam up like regular toothpaste, and come in six different types depending on your needs. I love how they're vegan and fluoride free.
Some of the key ingredients are wasabi and lavender for their antibacterial qualities. These can be great for traveling if you don't want to worry about your tube of toothpaste wrecking your toiletry bag.
Each box comes with 40 toothy tabs and costs around
$4.
Doll TwiddleStic
Another ingenious tool, the
Doll TwiddleStic, for creating long-lasting curls. It's actually healthier and less damaging because it cools your hair as it curls it. I've never seen anything like it.
Check out this video on
how the Doll TwiddleStic works. All you do is wrap a section of your hair around the cone, then run a flat-iron through it.
The cones come in 3 different sizes that allow you to create soft curls, beachy waves, or tight spirals.
$79
Magnetic Nail Polish
Nails Inc. created this fun new
magnetic nail lacquer used to create stunning 3D nail art designs in metallic shades.
To create a magnetic effect, you take the magnet attached on the cap and roll it over your nail bed. The metallic irons in the polish will move towards the magnet, creating a ripple effect.
I've seen this polish in 3 different colors: teal, purple, and chrome. Hopefully they come out with more shades. $7
Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow
I am very particular with eye shadows because my eyelids get very oily so it's hard for anything to stay put on them. I bought the
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow is now one of my favorites!
For me, they last 12+ hours (
with the help of a primer) without any smudging or creasing. They come in a great range of colors and blends very well.
They're $19 a pop but worth it for you're looking for an eye shadow with good staying power.

I really like the toothy tabs. I don't like eating out and not brushing my teeth after. My cousin use to carry his toothbrush tucked in his sock. I'm not going that far, but these are cool.
