Whether you want to make an extra special gift, are on a tight budget, or both, making your own gifts can be an ideal route to travel this year. Homemade gifts are budget-friendly and make some of the most meaningful and memorable gifts. I especially love getting the kiddos involved in making gifts. They enjoy doing it, and the family members love getting them! Here are four simple gift ideas you could do this week with the kids:
1. Gifts in a Jar.

Homemade gifts in a jar are super fun, and easy to make. Just get a yummy recipe together, put the dry ingredients in the jar and include the recipe with your gift. Make it festive with nice tag and ribbon. Check out Erin's Double Chocolate Brownie Mix in a Jar Recipe. And Andrea has a huge list of different gifts in a jar ideas here

2. Make Your Own Candles.

These are super easy to make from wax beads that can be picked up at the craft store. Check out how to make your own scented candle, and always use care and caution around open flame!

3. Homemade Sugar Scrub.

Two ingredients. That's all you need. With just coconut oil and raw sugar, you have the makings for a very simple and natural gift. And you can do all kinds of variations to make the sugar scrub unique. Check out my homemade vanilla sugar scrub recipe

4. Make Your Own Jewelry.

I absolutely love it when Michael's puts all their beads on sale for 50% off or more! I'm like a kid in the candy store, because my daughter absolutely loves making jewelry with me! This is a great way to make Grandma or Mom a super special gift, and it's the inexpensive way to give jewelry!

What are some of your ideas for homemade gifts?
