What was the inspiration for Spaphile?

Sharlene: Spaphile was an inspiration for me as I am a big advocate for self care activities for an affordable price! I am in a graduate program studying to become an occupational therapist which stresses the importance of independence with everyday activities, such as self care, to increase wellness and one's health. Being a student, it has been difficult for me to engage in the previous self care routines I enjoyed, but with good deals, I hope I can re-engage in them, since I know how important it is for a woman to feel beautiful and empowered. Taking care of your nails and hair brings relaxation and leisure for all woman, especially when it's at an affordable price!

Shervin: My inspiration for Spaphile was to connect spas with consumers during hard financial times and to help spas bring in more business. That way, consumers can comfortably afford to be pampered.

What can customers expect? Is it going to be body treatments and facials only, or do you expect to have salon services as well?

Shervin: Customers can expect an interactive experience with an in-depth look into the spas with unique videos produced by Spaphile and unique procedures from many area spas. We are going to be featuring day spas, gyms, hair salons, medical spas and any other service deal that pertains to health and wellness.

Sharlene: We expect to have salon services as well. Our feature deals are primarily going to be day spa treatments but we are also going to feature side deals to top rated salons.

How much can someone save with this service?

I notice you have a blog...what kind of entries do you plan on posting?

Sharlene: We have brought on Erin Harris from ChilloutLA as our expert to blog about everything from the top five eco spas in Los Angeles to top three spa treatments for Summer 2010. We are also going to have a section in our blog that offers free advice to spa owners to help better market their spas.

Why is staying pampered important?

Sharlene: Pampering to me means taking care of my physical appearance, such as my nails, hair, eyebrows, et cetera, so I can feel beautiful and secure with my image at any time of the day. It is important because it relaxes you and increases your self-esteem as well.

Any plans to extend to other cities?
