Shop Smarter
Here's a cool website that I regret not finding earlier…
Shop It To Me. The Internet personal shopping service scours the Web for you and then sends you a shout out when a sale comes up. It's like having a network of shopping-addicted girlfriends texting you from the mall.
How Do They Do It?
Technology is a wonderful thing. Once you sign up for Shop It To Me alerts and tell the site which products and brands you want, your inbox will be flooded with good deals. You can tell them the brands, size and type of clothing and accessories you need. You can pick how often you get emails to cut down on the inbox clutter. You'll have to give them your email address and zip code so they can find deals near you and then email "Salemail" to you.
If you're a ridiculously busy mom like me, you'll enjoy the chance to find your favorite stuff at sale prices. Instead of making the rounds to your favorite shops on lunch break, you only need to check your email. Then you can use that shopping time for better causes--such as a workout at the gym or a nice sit-down lunch with a coworker.
Sharing is Caring
The site makes it easy to share sale announcements with your friends and even offers an incentive for doing so. If ten of your friends sign up for the service, you get a $10 gift card. If the sales you shout about are good, you'll have a lot of grateful friends.
If It's Free, It's for Me!
Shop It To Me does all this work for you at no charge. While that's enough to get me to sign up, you might not be so fast to jump aboard. Some people feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of offers. I have to admit that a bunch of emails for 10% off don't thrill me much. But that one deep discounted "loss leader" item is well worth the time and effort of reading through smaller sales.
It can also be frustrating to look through 20 styles of Doc Marten's because you can't tell the system you're looking for a sandal rather than a shoe. In addition, jumping at a bargain, only to find the shipping costs negate the savings, is a common hazard. Ship It To Me has no control over retailer shipping fees, so it's something you just have to live with.
