Contest Alert: $50 Naturalizer Gift card

The heroes in our lives make all the difference in the community and within our own lives.  Police officers, members of the Military, Veterans, Firefighters, Teachers and Hospital staff give back to this nation and have deserved something in return. Here at Savings.com we salute those who are involved for a greater common goal and even risk their lives to protect and serve ours.

Last week's contest post announced the SEARS $200 Gift card giveaway--dedicated to the heroes of the nation.

We had 72 entries--each one of them deserving of the great prize offered by Sears. For example:

"My husband is an Army vet, toured in Iraq and is now a policeman. He is, and has always been, my hero and this card would be his if I won."

"My Mom has been a grade school teacher since before I met her and teaching for her is not a job yet a hobby that she cherishes. I am a substitute teacher for my school district yet nothing compares to my Mom's contributions to her students! I would love the opportunity to send her on a Sears shopping spree!!! How awesome! Thank you for the opportunity!"

"My husband served in the air force but also has been a firefighter and paramedic for the past 10+ years. He's fallen through floors in fires, gotten trapped in a basement when the stairs fell in, been blown out a building in a backdraft and has saved countless lives as a paramedic. He does this all with a sense of humility and pride and a love for his fellow man."

If it were possible, we'd love to give every entrant a prize. All the stories were so touching and made us so humble to know that so many of you dedicate your lives serving our country. Fortunately we left the hard decision to random.org to pick our hero.
