September is one of the nicest times of years to go camping. It's not too warm but not too hot in most parts of the country. And my favorite part of camping is the food!

Here are a few yummy snacks for you to enjoy:
Banana 'Smores

Everyone knows that a graham cracker, chocolate, and a marshmallow makes for a delectable treat. But why not add a twist? Throw a slice of banana on top of your treat, and you'll make it a tad healthier and a whole lot yummier! Another way to enjoy this treat? Peel a banana and split it down the middle. Stuff it with chocolate, marshmallows, and graham cracker crumbles. Then wrap it in foil and bake it over the campfire until the chocolate and marshmallows melt.

Trail Mix

Instead of purchasing a pre-made variety at the store, save yourself money by making a customized mix. You can make it healthy by including items like dried fruit, nuts, and veggies. Or you can cheat a little by adding chocolate chips, M&Ms, and other candy. If you make more than you need for the trip, keep some in a Ziploc bag at home for an at-home snack.

Eggs in a Hat

All you need is a slice of bread and an egg for this treat! Use a drinking glass to cut a hole in the center of your bread, being careful not to break the crust. Grease your skillet and warm it over low heat. Then place the toast in the skillet, and crack an egg into the hole. Once the bread is almost brown and the egg is relatively solid, flip it over. Then wait until the egg is completely cooked and the other side of the bread is brown, and you're ready to serve.
