5 Cheap and Easy Beauty Trends for 2012
It’s only January, but I’m already wondering what the beauty trends will be this throughout this year. I was checking out the 2012 Fashion Week in New York and I noticed some pretty exciting trends that were sported on the runway for hair and makeup that I’m hoping will be sought-after for the year.
These are a few of my favorite looks for 2012 that are fun, cheap and easy to recreate:
This hairstyle is extremely easy to do and yet it still looks stylish. It doesn’t require any tools or products.
All you do is grab the front pieces of hair, twist into a spiral, and secure with an elastic band under the ear.
Bold lip colors are going to continue being the trend throughout the year, but the neon look will be in as well and has made a few appearances on the runway.
Maybelline Color Sensation Lipcolor in Coral Crush ($7) is a pretty bright orange color. If you can splurge, get the neon pink lipstick from NARS in Schiap ($24, it’s currently my favorite!).
For the beauty risk takers, ditch the ol’ black or brown eyeliners and try some fun colors. Some pastel colors like yellow, mint green, and aqua have popped up to complement the 2012 Spring and Summer wardrobes.
I really like this shimmery, highly pigmented liquid eye liner from Sleek in Pastel Green ($6).
A perfect ‘do for when you’re just feeling lazy. The “I just got out of the shower” look has been seen at Alexander Wang, Chanel, and Helmut Lang fashion shows to name a few.
When your hair is damp, just spread some mousse all over. You can also try a spray wax, like Paul Mitchell Spray Wax ($8), and style however you like.
I’m really into all the wild nail designs I’ve been seeing this past year, and I have a feeling they won’t be going away in 2012. All those glitters, rhinestones, neon colors can be fun to try on your own.
I really like this DIY Ombre Glitter Nails tutorial. All you need is some clear polish, ultra-fine glitter (can be found at any craft store), and a fine tipped brush.
