It’s that time of year when kids get to dress up as their favorite character, hero or who they want to be when they grow up. There are already some Halloween freebies available and I’m sure there will be even more as it gets closer.

To start there are several craft ideas…I like the one where you make monster decorations out of juice boxes. You can grab an e-cookbook that’s everything pumpkin and make some dips and spreads. Don’t forget to grab the free Jell-O mold–the mold is free, but it’s $2.95 for shipping and handling, still a great deal from Kraft. Make sure you stop by Kaboose.com for printables, party ideas, games and more. Free eBook: Halloween Craft Ideas. Enter your email to access the e-book. Crafts include: Halloween Paper Center Piece, Faux Bloody Votives, Monster Decorations from Juice Boxes and more. Offer from All Free Holiday Crafts.

Free Pumpkin Carving Patterns. Just choose the one you want to download the pattern. At the bottom of their page it says if you “Like” them on Facebook you can access even more patterns.

More free Pumpkin Carving Stencils from Better Homes & Garden. Many to choose from; log in or register to print.

Free Pumpkin e-Cookbook – Offer from Amazon for Kindle. Recipes include: Apple Pumpkin Butter, Pumpkin Dip, Sweet Pumpkin Spread and more. If you don’t have a Kindle you can download the e-reader for computers and mobile devices for free!

Free Jell-O Brain Mold – The mold is free just pay $2.95 S&H. Offer from Kraft Corner Store.

When my son was younger we tried that whole carve-pumpkin thing but then we discovered we really don’t like gutting the pumpkin, smell of pumpkin, so that tradition went out the window. We then bought small hand-size pumpkins and decorated them with magic markers.
