While watching the
British gymnastics team win bronze yesterday, I had an epiphany. Couponing and gymnastics (
well, any Olympic sport) go hand in hand. In both of our sports, consistency is key, hard work and dedication are a must and at the end of day we both care about the bottom line.
There are 3 similarities I found specifically between the British Men's Olympic gymnastics team and couponing, but feel free to comment below with your thoughts:
Every Bit Counts
GB Gymnastics: They didn't give away points, they fought hard for every
landing. Every point counted and they ultimately brought their home the Bronze
medal.
Couponing: We fight for every cent we can save. The cents add up to become a significant amount of savings. We bring home the bacon.
Royalty LoveGB Gymnastics: They have Prince William and Prince Harry as their fans.
Couponing: We are Prince William and Prince Harry fans.
Bronze Medal & The PennyGB Gymnastics: The bronze medal is made of 97% copper, 2.5% zinc and 0.5% tin.
Couponing: The penny is made of 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper.
Have you been following the
2012 London Olympics? With all the strategizing, practicing and performing, shouldn't couponing be an Olympic sport? Let me know your thoughts.
I loved the Olympics but I'm afraid I don't have that type of commitment to coupons.
