While some economists declared the recession over in June 2009, many Americans would beg to differ with that assessment.  Given the fact that the recent Black Friday saw an 8.5% increase in shoppers, however, there seems to be an increase in consumer confidence at the very least.  According to comScore, holiday spending is up 12% this year already reaching $16.8 billion dollar with three weeks still until Christmas.
Popular gift categories include apparel, electronics, gift cards and toys while the most popular products are predicted to be hot new video gaming consoles Microsoft Kinect and Sony Move as well as e-Readers like the Kindle and Nook and tablet computers like the coveted iPad.
