Keeping Next Year's Resolution

After surveying a slew of different web sites trying to figure out a
New Year's Resolution, I noticed that every single one of them had
"getting in shape" or "losing weight" in the top three. Also, after
doing some thinking about my old New Year's Resolutions, I realized
I've never actually followed through with any of them (
and I'm sure you
haven't either). These two completely independent events have convinced
me to give the Savings.com community a chance to actually follow through
their goals of getting in shape.
Here are some tips that will help you
actually keep your New Year's Resolution:
- Start early. The longer you wait to actually try getting shape, the
harder it is. Once you make working out a habit, you'll be a lot more
motivated to keep doing it. A good way to get motivated is to join a
gym. You'll want to keep going to make that hard earned money you
spent on it worth it. Luckily for you, we have some 24 Hour Fitness
coupons.
- Eat Healthier. Changing your diet can be tough, but there are a lot
of programs out there that will help you through meetings and helping
you keep track of what you eat. One program that I know actually works
(if you actually follow it) is Weight Watchers. It has helped some
friends of mine and I've heard nothing but good things about the
program.
- Make a Plan. If you have a well thought out, realistic plan, things
will be much easier for you. You have several weeks to make a plan, so
there really isn't any excuse not to have one (except for work, the
holidays, kids, etc.). Start by coming up with weekly goals that lead
to an ultimate goal. This way you can watch yourself progress every
week. Also, don't be afraid to change around your ultimate goal. If
you see that you're working hard towards it and realize it's
unrealistic, why not change it?
Hopefully these tips will help you keep that resolution. Why not try
to make this year the one where you actually did what you set out to do?
