While wine-colored toenails are optional, men everywhere are getting manicures and pedicures. And why not? Sure beats craggly toes at the end of the bed. With 30% of salon clients being male, we thought we'd give you guys some DIY tips for the perfect home mani/pedi.

Enjoy.

To cater to the manly man, the culture of the mani/pedi has begun to change. Terminology is even evolving to cater to the manliest of dudes. Think "executive pedicure" or "sports pedicure."

But we ladies know, once you have a professionally done pedicur,e it's hard to go back. However, at $20 to $40 bucks a pop, a home remedy is always easier on the wallet.

Guys, you'll wanna begin by soaking those "loafers" in a nice warm tub or basin of water. We recommend the peppermint oil included in the Feet Treat kit from The Body Shop to help with softening. If you're not a minty fresh kinda guy, baking soda works just as well.

After a good soak, you'll want to buff up those piggies. Try a dual-sided pumice file from Avon to work away those callouses.

Next turn your attention to the toenails. Clean under nail tips and clip. Be sure to file splits or rough edges.Work slowly so that nails that have been weakened by breaks do not tear or split from filing that is too vigorously administered. A gentle continuous motion of the file is the best approach.

Before you get too giddy about your polish color, cuticles need to be minimized so that your color is more easily applied. Gently work your cuticles with a cuticle stick, being careful to not be too forceful.

You're almost at your sexy feet finish. Now you can pick your polish color. You can save on Lipman brand polish from Bath and Body Works when you shop the clearance section.

There now, don't we feel pretty? Good looking feet underneath those oxfords may just give you that extra boost you were looking for in your power meeting.

Go get 'em, men!
