Money Saving Tips
Laundry detergent is something we all have to buy. It seems like most popular commercial brands cost more than they should, and finding alternatives is a great way to save money. Buying eco-friendly laundry detergent will help keep your family healthy and will help protect the environment.
Make your own laundry detergent using a
laundry detergent recipe. I have made my own laundry detergent for years, and it works very well on all of our clothing. It's nice because I know exactly what is going into my laundry detergent, and essentially, on our skin.
Soap nuts are an all natural nut that grows on a tree. You can buy a package to try, and you use three of them for a load of laundry. Put them in a little muslin bag, and toss them in with your laundry. You can reuse them a couple of times too! If you like liquid laundry detergent better, you can make a liquid laundry detergent by soaking your soap nuts in water overnight. Then use the liquid as normal. It's also great for cleaning!
Dr. Bronner's castile soap is also great for laundry. It's an all natural soap, and you only have to use a tablespoon or two to wash your clothes. It will get your clothes clean and make them smell great!
Buy an eco-friendly laundry detergent like
Ecover or Ecos. I have found Ecos at our local
Walmart and it is cheaper than many other brands! Plus, you can also use two tablespoons of laundry detergent to clean your clothes. Use less and save more money!
What do you use for laundry detergent?
