Making your own baby food for your babies can help save you money and feed your child healthier foods.  When you make your own baby food, you control exactly what goes into it and how it's prepared.  With a few simple tips, you can make your own baby food quickly and easily.

Here are some tips to get you started:

  • Keep it simple.  If you're in a time crunch, you can smash up a banana pretty quickly.  You don't have to make complicated meals for your baby.

  • Steaming and freezing veggies is fast and easy!  When you've got some time, you can batch cook your baby food.  Cut and prep your veggies, prepare them, and then you can even put the food into ice cube trays to freeze!  Before you are ready to feed your baby, just pop out a cube of food and let it defrost in the bowl on the counter.  Super easy!

  • Use the appliances you already have to make baby food.  If you don't have a steamer, that's not a problem.  You can put veggies or fruits in a pot with some water and remove the food once it's soft.  Instead of having to buy one of those fancy baby food systems, you can use your regular blender or food processor.  It will process the food just fine!

  • Variety is awesome.  Once you are sure your child isn't allergic to a specific fruit or veggie, you can combine them to give your baby variety.  Look to jarred food for inspiration.

Making your own baby food can be simple and save you money! Would you make your own baby food?
