Spring cleaning each year can be a good way to help reduce toxins in your home and remove some unwanted dust around the house.  Fortunately, there are many cleaning tips you can apply to your spring cleaning that will help your health and can help you save money!

Here are some of the tips I've found that help put some more green in my pocket.

  • Clean the refrigerator coils.  When we removed our refrigerator to clean behind it, we found a bunch of dust and dog hair. Gross!  Not only will you help remove toxins in your home, you'll also help save money on your energy bill because your refrigerator won't have to work so hard.

  • Replace scented plug in oil diffusers with essential oils mixed with some oil.  A good recipe to follow is to fill the diffuser with oil almost to the top, and then drop about 10 drops of essential oil in.  You'll have a nice clean scent without polluting your air.

  • Add some plants to your home to help purify the air.  Plants help add some nice decor to your house, but they also do double duty as air purifiers.  Plus, they are a lot more inexpensive than the air purifiers you buy!
