Hey Readers!
Black Friday is coming up!! This is probably one of the most exciting days of my life each year. This is the time where I stock up on clothes, shoes, and accessories. Black Friday is the day where I do all my Christmas shopping!
So everyone has their own method to get deals--whether it is collecting coupons, bookmarking those online deals, "Becoming a Fan" on Black Friday deal pages on Facebook--or even just signing up for newsletter on updated Black Friday lists. And believe me, I'm one of them. Signing up for newsletter is great because you get an email when a store listing is released. And you get to compare which place has an item for a cheaper price.
For me personally, I already know what I need to buy. So when I go into a store, I just go in, get the item(s) and get out and move onto the next store. But before I can even go to the store, I do a little research here and there online. I have subscribed to bfads.net newsletter. They send me emails weekly telling me what's new for Black Friday. I'm also a member of Savings.com as well as a Fan on their Black Friday Facebook page. It's great because they are constantly updating their status with the latest deal. I've referred many friends to these sites and they all loved it!
What I also love to do is go to the mall and window shop. Figure out which store has what item. Because on Black Friday there will be TONS of people. You have no time to just shop around and take your time to decide and everything is a mess (clothes everywhere, sizes are misplaced, etc). You must know what you want and get it. So it's best to go one day prior and make sure if the store has it. If the store doesn't even carry the item of what you want, you don't need to go there on Black Friday.
Oh, and it's also nice to have a wonderful sibling--the two (or more) of you can split the shopping list and go separately. This is when cell phone comes in handy. If one sees a even better deal on an item, call the other person up and let them know! (This is what I do with my sister at the mall...)
Aside from online deals, I look at newspapers. Many stores send out Black Friday advertisements. Just recently I had a coworker who was looking for a refrigerator. I told him a couple websites to check out and he found a few good deals from Sears, Best Buy and Lowe's. Then we saw a newspaper ad from Home Depot! The same refrigerator but it was slightly cheaper than the one we saw on Sears website. I told him to go see if Sears will match the price, I know some places do that. The next day, he came back to me and told me that not only did Sears match the price, but they reduced even more! It was definitely a great deal for him. So the moral of the story is don't be afraid to ask the store for a price match. You never know what good deals will come out from it!
There are no right or wrong way to do your Black Friday shopping. If you're an early person, DO wake up early and go to those stores and get those things you need. Earlier the better, when the stores are still organized and are less crowded. IF you want to have an experience of your lifetime, DO camp out at the store with a few friends or family members with you. Trust me, you will need a 2nd person to hold your spot when you need to go to the restroom. And if you just want your beauty sleep, DO enjoy your Friday sleep-in because there is always
Cyber Monday.
But if you're going to pass on Cyber Monday--well, then there's always Savings.com to help you save, save, save all year round!
