Nike+ iPod Heart Rate Monitor Set to Launch

Welcome to the greatest show on all the infinite earths. Thanks to you, our faithful five fans. This week sees the return of that beer drinking, laid back game-playing, flipper of birds, Yasar. Today we heard the news about the impending (fingers crossed) release of a Nike and Apple combo sure to get your heart pumping for years to come. No really. I'm talking about the Nike+ iPod heart rate monitor.

Yasar: This is great news for anyone who has an iPod Nano (5th generation or later).  You now have an extra accessory to monitor your workouts while listening to "The Final Countdown" on repeat.  The Nike+ iPod option has always been a great motivation for people to get out there and start working out (because apparently being healthy isn't enough), and according to Engadget, the Nike+ heart rate monitor launch is expected for June 1.  That's roughly two weeks for those of you too flustered to do the math.

Guy: Echoing Nasty Yasty's comments above, this is truly a great way to personalize and monitor your workout. On a serious note, with so many seemingly healthy people having difficulties in the gym or--in very rare instances--passing away while working out, this kind of device may prove essential in ensuring that each person tailors a safe and effective workout to fit their own personal needs.

What say you guys? Is this something you have been looking for to complete your workouts? We're curious to know.
