Stuff We Like
Welcome back fellow viewers of the strange and bizarre. Here we are at the end of another week, back for another blog about the wacky and strange in the world of gadgets. This week, I actually wanted to step away from the snark podium this column usually finds me on and discuss something that actually looks pretty cool. It also has the benefit of being environmentally-conscious to boot.
Without further ado, check out these cool OrigAudio Speakers.
The OrigAudio speakers, detailed in full at
Technabob.com, are essentially fold-able speakers made from recycled materials. Yeah, I know, they look like cardboard boxes with a speaker face. But that's what makes the fact that they produce a decent sound and come with a cool design all the more awesome. They are simple, easily stored, and cost just $19.99. Check out
OrigAudio.com for all the design options they have available. They even allow you to customize your own patterns to create speaker-art masterpieces.
Now these aren't going to complement that megawatt, edge of technology system you may have attached to your home theater, but they are a nice portable, decorative set of 1-watt speakers that can turn any dreary studio apartment into a hip, stellar sanctum sanctorum. (
Dr. Strange reference for the win!) I'm actually off to design my own right now and may post pics later of what I come up with.
So what do you think? Do the no-power-source-required, barely 3" speakers do it for you? Discuss away in the comments section below.
