This could potentially be a long story. I typically talk with my hands, so be glad that this is not a video or you would be cracking up at me.

My husband and I have never been rolling in the dough. We have struggled with finances since we got married 11 years ago. We have had our ups and downs financially, especially with 3 kids in the house. This last year we have really been working even harder to pull ourselves out of that hole.

We have a modest savings account, but every time we save a penny someone needs it. Over the last couple of months we moved, then the TV died and then the dryer died. Um, those are two things that I am not willing to live without--especially with kids in the house. Thank goodness we had our modest savings and we could afford to buy a new TV and a dryer. It feels so good to purchase an item and not put it on credit.

We have been a family with one vehicle. Good ole trusty Molly (She's our minivan).  The kids named her of course. When you have kids, everything needs a name. Molly has taken us to and from many places, many times. She is still running great and has lots of life left in her, but I was wearing out. Running back and forth taking hubby to work, kids to school, running to the store, just to turn around and pick everyone back up again.

My hubby took it upon himself to try to relieve some of my stress. He called me the other day from the used car dealership. After some very fancy haggling on his part, we are now the proud owners of vehicle number two--a new to us Ford Expedition (which the kids named "The Beast." I told you they name everything...) We paid cash for it, so we have no monthly payments. It is a great feeling to know that working hard and saving has reaped us such great rewards!
