Wacky Product of the Week - Sleeping Bag Coats

Welcome once again my friends to the land of the absurd and bizarre. This week I bring you a glimpse into the strange world of fashion and camping mash-ups. That's right folks, set your gaze upon the sleeping bag coat.

Marvel at the shear 'WTH?!' of it all as I break it all down for you below.

Anything I say about the Sleep Coat, spawned from the mind of Lin Tsui-Wei for the Red Dot Institute, would likely pale in comparison to whatever you yourselves are thinking right now. The primary function is, yes you guessed it, to serve as a coat. But, hold on, for this is no mere windbreaker designed to only protect you from rain and other gnarly elemental forces. No, pull up the hood, lay back in repose and presto, instant sleeping bag. Whoa! Say it ain't so! Now all those trust-fund-afarians you see getting their pretend-a-homeless on around your local college town can maintain a sense of chic when begging for their meth money. 

The final functional, yet utterly absurd looking, part of this coat/home-on-the-run contraption involves separating the outfit in two and using the bottom half as a mattress while utilizing the top as a jacket.

From Red Dot itself:

"...carrying luggage and outdoor equipment, and being prepared for unpredictable weather can cause inconveniences. Functioning as both a windbreaker and a sleeping bag, Sleeping Coat overcomes some of these challenges."
