Most gamers will admit that Summer is a time to get out of the house as much as possible. But for those die-hards contemplating spending long hours glued to the couch with eyes focused on their next level upgrade and minds contemplating just how to unlock all of the latest in-game achievements, Summer is solely about hours of uninterrupted gaming.
To help keep your wallet from taking a huge hit,
Sony and
Microsoft are offering special, limited time deals via their respective online stores.
Guy: Through the
Playstation Network Summer Sale, owners of the PS3 can download discount copies of select games through Monday, August 9th. Notable games with solid online discounts include:
- $7 off Madden NFL Arcade for the PS3.
- $14.99 for Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars on the PSP, down from $29.99.
- Tetris at $4.99.
Other games being offered range from Minis at $1.49, to bigger downloads priced at $14.99. For the full listing of reduced fare, visit the link above.
Yasar:
Xbox Live Arcade is having a similar discount roll-out mimicking what they had last year for their Xbox Live Summer Arcade. They're releasing five top-notch arcade games every week. This year's list includes Limbo, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, Castlevania Harmony of Despair, Monday Night Combat, and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Their deals give you the option of purchasing three of these games and getting 400 Microsoft Points back or getting all five and getting 1,200 Microsoft Points.
So is there anything you'll be looking to snag on the cheap? We've already downloaded Tetris and have our eyes on several more.
