Attending a professional sports game is a one of
a kind experience. Almost every aspect of it is better than
watching a game on TV except one: it's expensive. However, I'm here
to tell you there is a close alternative that is much cheaper. I'm
talking about sports bars.
Here are some advantages of going to a sports bar
instead of the actual game:
Less randoms: Going to a sports bar with your
friends ensures you that you will be watching the game with good
company instead of a bunch of randoms. If you like the randoms you
can usually find a couple at the bar.
Cheaper beer: I would personally never pay $8
for a beer anywhere in the world. Why should I do it when going to
sports game? You not only have a better selection at a bar but it's
always going to be cheaper than at the stadium.
Easier to get to and leave: Sports bars usually
don't charge you an extra $10 to park and you're not competing with
thousands of others for a spot. It's easy to get there and
leave.
Floor seats to every game: I'm not going to
pretend watching a game on TV is as exciting as watching it live
but I do think it's better than sitting in the nose-bleeds. Find a
bar that has HDTVs (virtually every bar by now...) and feel
like you're actually at the game instead of watching ants
play.
Never sold out: Most games worth watching sell
out pretty fast and that is extremely frustrating. You don't need
tickets to watch the game at a bar (if you do it's probably time
to go to a new bar!) which means you can watch every
game.
That's it, folks. The next time there's a game on
you need to see but can't afford to attend it in person, go to a
sports bar. For a listing of sports bars in your area, check out SportsTavern.com or SportsBars.com. And for
