Teeth Whitening for $1 or Less

It is possible to whiten your teeth inexpensively.  A regular size bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide will cost you about $1 or less at most stores. It is the main ingredient in all those over the counter whitening products. Check out a list of prices and ingredients in Crest Whitestrips . That's right!  It's just good old Hydrogen Peroxide.  And it will cost you about $30, just to get a regimen of their whitening products.

Here's how I whiten my teeth : I use a small amount of hydrogen peroxide as a mouth wash twice a day for 7-10 days. I'm very careful not to swallow it, just like I wouldn't want to swallow the gel that is in over the counter whitening products.  My teeth are significantly whiter just after a week, and guess what else!  This doesn't hurt my teeth like the whitening products do.  Every time I have used whitening gel products before, I wasn't able to use them past three days because they made my teeth hurt so bad.  Another benefit to using it as a mouth wash, is that it fights plaque and helps with canker sores.

For those of you that still might be skeptical, just check out what it says on a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide: "First aid antiseptic and oral debriding agent ."

So there you have it! For $1 or less I have a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide that will last me a very long time. Not only do I use it for whitening my teeth, but it's great for disinfecting scrapes and cuts and killing viruses.  Now that's Natural and Thrifty!
