After all it is a free country and we have the right to choose we love, what company to use and who to socialize with right?
Unfortunately the answer to breaking up is not that easy after all. While it's true we all know and respect those people who walk around life making their own decisions and having the courage enough to call a spade a spade, breaking up is really an extremely difficult task for most of us.
Saving money is so possible if we could just make a decision and part ways with some of these people (while others are simply time wasters). Below are the top 10 people hardest to break up with in my opinion.
Hairdresser: I love my salon. The mere fact its about a 90 second drive is great, however, when I call in and my hairdresser is on vacation, boy do I feel like I am cheating. The pure guilt associated with using another hairdresser makes me want to just avoid any pair of scissors and simply slowly grow into hair like David Lee Roth used to have.
Housecleaner: These people have my keys, know when I am home or away and quite possibly have ten family members to support so how can I be so mean?? I mean seriously, there are such nice people even if I have to spend six hours cleaning up after they leave.
Babysitters: So this is pretty easy to do, but due to the limited quantity of any teenager who will give up a Friday night for $25, my patience is getting higher and higher with babysitters. As long my son likes her and we can trust her in the time of an emergency is all that matters right? Even if we always lose our reservations since her grandmother seems to die every Friday night and that's why she was late.
Insurance Agent: Despicable salespeople, but do I really want to meet another shark? Knowing one is tough enough.
Credit Card Companies: Need I say more. How can you break up with anyone who rewards paying your internet bill with frequent flyer points? Sure, raise my rate to 50% as I will probably still not break up with you...arrgggh!
The IT Specialist at Work: Egomaniac, computer jargon. I can not be mean to you since you will expose my browsing history and make it known I really only do work 30 minutes a day but seriously – can we just please get along. I know you are smarter than me and you know I have better luck with the ladies. Please, let's call it a draw
Co-Workers: While the IT guy is critical to keeping your browsing history safe from those mean people in HR, how about that little chatterbox in the next cubicle? Sad people who work so close are really hard to break up with, but I think we all need to learn a little patience--until we get another job!! And then it's hasta la vista Baby !!
McDonalds: An American institution that still can't put everything in the bag. When will you understand when I ask for a #1 and a coke I really don't find the "What would you like to drink with that?" question very amusing anymore.
Spouse: Anything involving money, children and property is difficult, but sometimes necessary. Try to make it work--good lawyers are expensive!
The Internet: Love you / hate you / need you / want you...Way too much conflict here so I will keep you--even though you suck away all my free time and make it too easy to spend money on things I don't really need. Forever and ever XOXO
Sometimes making the tough choice of breaking up can be very healthy for your checkbook, but boy, is it hard at times.
Who do you think are the hardest people (or things) to break up with?
