What makes a good video game deal? Today we answer that question by taking a look at three of this week's high profile price reductions.
Sonic 4: Episode 1 Price Drop

Remember Sonic the Hedgehog? Seriously, who didn't love Sonic the Hedgehog other than those two guys named Mario and Luigi? Well Sonic made a bit of a comeback earlier this year via the Sonic 4 Xbox Live download. For a while now it has been set at $15 / 1,200 Microsoft points. By the end of next week it will be available for $10 / 800 Microsoft points and $9.99 on the Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network (PSN) respectively.

Verdict: It wasn't exactly costly before, but a new $10 price point is more than welcome. Deal.

Battlefield 3 Limited Edition Download

Amazon is offering a PC download of Battlefield 3 for 30% off. The pre-order price being offered this week is $41.99. That's a nearly $18 drop in price from the standard $59.99 available nearly everywhere else. That has Deal written all over it. If you prefer PC gaming over consoles, grab this game of the year contender ASAP.

Steam's THQ Deals

Steam is currently offering some really good deals as part of their THQ Week 2011. With the exception of Saints Row: The Third and Space Marine, the entire THQ catalog is available for 33% off. As if that wasn't enough, you can also purchase the THQ Hits Collection (loaded with 15 games) for 50% off. That's a $100 value, now available for just $49.99.

Need I even say it? Deal.
