Ever since I saw The Terminator as a child, I've had an ever-present fear that robots will eventually take over the world. Then about ten years ago, I saw the Roomba Vacuum and thought, oh god, it's happening! Of course, Roombas are very, very cool (
and now they have Scoobas and other crazy sweep-on-their-own vacuums), but hardly Cyberdyne Systems' worthy. I mean, they don't even have eyes.
But then, I found this:
Cam Baby Humanoid.
What. The. Heck?!? I know robots are supposed to be scary, but can't you at least
intentionally make them frightening? Give them big red eyes and claws or hooks for hands and sharp teeth and big stomping boots and guns, but don't make them in the shape of human babies and pretend they are cute! It doesn't help that in the picture on the website that sells them, it looks like they're a little miniature robot baby army coming to get me. Or maybe I'm just paranoid.
However, these robot babies are completely harmless (
for now…) and just wobble towards you and cry if they fall over. Kind of lame. And still creeping me out--although the image on the website where the baby has fallen over is hysterical:

I'm not sure what's happening there, but it looks
awesome.
For around $50, you too can have a cam baby humanoid robot, though do you really want one?
