Wardrobe Oxygen: Incorporate Natalie Portman's Oscar Look into Your Style

Last night, Natalie Portman wore tassel earrings from Tiffany to the Oscars. The beaded tassels perfectly matched her off-the-shoulder gown. At the L.A. premiere of her movie No Strings Attached, Portman again wore Tiffany tassel earrings--this time in black to match her black Vena Cava maxi dress.

Kate Hudson wore some fabulous pearl and diamond tassel earrings from Stephen Russell when she attended the Golden Globes. Oscar de la Renta showed tassel earrings for their Fall 2011 line while Chanel showed ombre-colored tassel earrings for Spring 2011.

With your Little Black Dress: Every woman should have a little black dress (LBD) in her wardrobe--the perfect garment for a wedding, holiday party. You can wear it with a jacket or over a white shirt for work, glam it up for evening or make it appropriate for a day event.

A pair of tassel earrings will make your LBD evening-appropriate. Gold with black tassels is a classic look that would look amazing with an envelope clutch and simple heels; add your personality with tassel earrings in your signature color.

With a crisp white shirt and pencil skirt: Tassel earrings are a phenomenal way to bring a modern trend and flash of glam to a classic office look. Keep the rest of your accessories simple; forgo the bracelet and necklace and wear pointy-toe pumps. This way the tassel earrings have top billing and really pull the outfit together.

Again, simple gold and black or pearl tassel earrings would look chic, but don't be afraid to use color. With your favorite Saturday night ensemble: A pair of tassel earrings is an amazing way to jazz up your favorite nightclub look. With a one-shoulder or tube top, tassel earrings take center stage, elongate your neck, and give a modern look.

For this look, the more glam the better. Crystals, rhinestones, pearls, beads in your favorite hue--everything goes! As with any other look, let the earrings take center stage and keep the rest of your accessories to a minimum.

Accessories are a great wardrobe investment. They take up less space so you can wear them when they are on trend, shelf when past their prime, and bring them back out a couple years later when past being passé or when back en vogue.
