"Why All the Best Deals are on Savings.com" or "What I Do All Day"

I often get blank looks when I try to explain to friends what it is I do for Savings.com in my daily Deal Entry capacity, so I figured I'd explain a little, and in the process explain why Savings is your best bet for finding coupons and online discount codes. I must admit though, when I first started, I had no idea how much money I was wasting in my online shopping by not using the online coupon sites. Believe me when I tell you that I am now making up for lost time...

Like many of our Deal Entry folks, I work from home. I typically roll out of bed at 6:30am, grab a cup of coffee, and make the long commute to my couch to start work. Of the literally thousands of merchants that Savings offers coupons for, I have about 50 that I look at every day hunting for ways to save you money. Typically, this involves checking for recent emails from the merchant (We have a different address for each merchant to spam us), checking the merchant's web page for any changes and searching Google. Savings has quite a few people working 8 hours a day looking for the best deals for you. We even have a few folks who work an overnight shift to make sure we catch any deals that come in at night.

Most of my merchants are for things I have some interest in: Home Improvement, Automotive, Sports & Sporting Goods, Fast Food etc., which means I should know a good deal when I see it. Of course it also means sometimes all of this pretend shopping leads to real purchases. It's amazing, but after looking at sites I have little interest in, like cigars or bird watching supplies, I find myself oddly compelled to buy something. At this rate, I'm only about 4-6 weeks away from seriously considering buying a bird feeder, or a box of premium cigars.

Some of the real danger is in finding killer deals on really amazing products that I formerly didn't even know existed. For instance:

73% off an automatic mini donut fryer (though research reveals a lot of negative reviews online):

And a pair of the most fabulous pants (and matching sport coat) that are a bargain at twice the price.

So all I do all day, in a nut shell, is go to merchant web pages, pretend to buy something and see if I can find coupons. You would be surprised. With some merchants what you see is what you pay, no matter what. But some online retailers have constant 10%, 20% or even more site wide deals. Nearly everyone online has some minimum above which you will get free shipping automatically, and many have a free shipping no minimum as well.

You don't need to hunt high and low though, just go to the Savings.com home page and do a quick search for the merchant in the search box at the top. Trust me; all the best deals are going to be there.

I also spend about an hour a day, unfortunately for my waistline right before lunch, looking up all the latest Fast Food and reasonably priced chain restaurant deals. If someone is giving away free fries, or a free desert, or $5 off for a limited time only I'm gonna find it and I'm gonna post it for you.

And did you know that you can pick and choose categories, stores and brands right on our home page? Do you want to know when Hooters is having buy 10 get 10 free wings? Choose them from the home page, or just choose the Fast Food category. Next time you visit the home page, any new deals are front and center for you.

So that's it, that's what I do all day, while entertaining 3 wiener dogs, watching bad movies and tweeting nonsense all over the Twitter.
