Salutations and mas tequila. The Guy and Yasar show has come back, to sunny Southern California. We come bearing extra storage. News of extra storage that is. Excitement over the 360 USB is raging across the geekerwebs. Check out the pics of the party Yasar and I threw with some international sexy ladies to celebrate the release. (Disclaimer: Okay that's really a Maxim video game party. But in our minds we were there and it was teh awesome!)

Microsoft may be a little late to the game, but they have finally implemented USB support for the 360 via a new Xbox LIVE update. Yay, celebratory hugs with the sexy ladies...And we're back.

Details? Here you go.

For the full scoop from Microsoft check out the Xbox 360 site. For the straight dope breakdown with opinions attached from the dynamic duo, stay right where you are.

Yasar: This is a great news for anyone who has gone through more than one Xbox 360.  Guy and I have combined for a whopping five consoles between the two of us (I idiotically traded my first one for a teleporter.  Turns out teleporters aren't real, who knew?).  You see, a while back Microsoft implemented the ability to copy your games to your hard drive so as to minimize the use of the disc drive.  This gives the Xbox 360 a longer shelf life since the disk drive isn't being used as much.  Now that you can use another hard drive, you can store all of your games, demos, music, movies, and pictures on your hard drive and then plug it into your Xbox 360 without having to worry about overloading the drive you paid $100 for when you bought it.  You can use any hard drive that has a USB port to save all that junk you've been wanting to export to your Xbox.

Guy: Definitely. This is long overdue and something Sony got right from the get go. I'm definitely feeling the dual option of hard drive and USB over just hard drive alone.

Yasar: One of the problems with the hard drive is that you can't use more than 16GB even if you have a larger hard drive.  The Xbox will only recognize the first 16GB of whatever device you end up choosing. This can can be really annoying in some cases.  For example, if you already had a 250GB drive you were planning on using, you're better off saving that for something like backing up your music (or digital eight-tracks as Guy likes to call them...).

Guy: The next question that comes up is, where exactly do you find a quality, compatible USB device to best use for the 360. SanDisk has a pretty cool model that they are offering with moderate pricing and some cool perks. The 16GB drive will run you $69.99, while the lower storage 8GB unit will cost just $34.99. Regardless of which one you buy, both will allow you to easily plug into the 360 and come with updated Xbox software. That's a huge plus as I would not want to sit there frustrated for hours trying to make the drive compatible with my 360. Kudos to Sandisk on that one. You can also use it to transfer your Xbox Live downloads, map packs, music, and avatars. Again, they have more on their site, so be sure to check it out when you're done getting your fun on here.

Yasar: Don't forget that the SanDisk USB also contains a one-month LIVE Gold membership...

Even cooler. So what say you, fellow nerds of the joystick? Are you psyched for the increased storage and sharing potential or does this all leave you feeling very "Meh"? Comment below.
