Billeater: Use Facebook to Save Money on Black Friday
Many people use Facebook to socialize with friends and family. But did you know that you could use Facebook to save money on Black Friday shopping? It is true; now you can add Facebook Pages to your arsenal of print circulars and Websites.
The holiday shopping season officially begins the day after Thanksgiving so there’s little time to lose. Consumers can find great deals on this day because businesses want you to do your holiday shopping at their store. They offer items at deep discounts including selling items at a loss to entice you into the store hoping that you will also buy items at regular price.
Black Friday is known for special offers that are available on that day only. Sometimes it is not so easy to find these special deals in a timely manner. That is where a Facebook Page shines.
What is a Facebook Page?
A Facebook Page is where businesses and stores can post information in an official manner to people connected with them. Once you “Like” the Page whenever a new sale is listed and posted on the Page, it will also appear on your Facebook wall. This way you will know about the latest sales without having to remember to search for them.
Many businesses will give special offers to people who “Like” their Page. These inside deals are another great way to save. It is common to see ad previews and links to their weekly ads posted as soon as they come out. The savings are year-round, not just on Black Friday.
Finding a Facebook Page
One way to do this is to go to the store’s Website and look for a link or button that says something like “Join Us on Facebook.” When you click on the link, you will be taken to their Facebook Page. All you have to do from there is “Like” their Page. Now you are connected and in the loop to have updates from the Page sent to your News Feed or send you messages.
Another way to find a Facebook Page for store you like is to search from Facebook. Just type the name of the store in Facebook’s search box and you will be taken to the Page.
A Facebook Page can offer so much more than a print circular or Website. That is because the Page is specific to the store and besides the sales you will find articles, pictures, videos, flyer links, perks, tips, coupon codes, DIY projects and recipes. Whatever the store thinks will be of interest can be put on the Page. You can leave comments, too.
Since you will need to have your own Facebook profile you can easily share any deals that you think will be of interest to your family and friends. You can just simply “Like” something on the page and it will be posted to wall for others to see. This is a fun way to easily share things.
Facebook has become much more than a time sucking social chit-chat site. It makes it easy to save on Black Friday or any day of the year.
