Label Lovers Rejoice!
Frugal fashionistas, the very heartening trend of designers doing guest lines for affordable stores continues. Check out the world class styles you can find at suburban mall prices.
In this recession, it seems everyone is scaling back. Even high end fashion designers are feeling the crunch as retail sales plummet. More and more, top designers are catching on that chic can also mean cheap. Like Todd Oldham and Cynthia Rowley before them, smart designers are making inexpensive lines for popular stores and outfitting the young, broke and fabulous for less. Everyone wins as designers keep their revenue flowing, inexpensive stores up their thrill-factor and style savvy shoppers get to buy designer styles without paying designer prices.
Check out where you can score some luscious labels for a lark this summer and fall. I bet at least one designer-retailer collaboration will surprise you.
Payless Shoe Source – The once blah-but-well-priced shoe selection of Payless has transformed to a Who’s Who for young designers. The Payless alice + olivia line did crazy sales nationwide.
