4 frugal health trends you should run away from as quickly as possible
2013: The year of Miley Cyrus, selfies, and some interesting health programs. While a lot of fun things happened last year, some of these trends should be left there. Here are some of the more interesting frugal health trends that you should probably just run quickly away from while screaming in terror…
1. The Ramen Diet.
A regular diet for college students everywhere, there was a large movement of middle-aged women that opted for this diet to save money and lose weight! While it did work for some time, the weight never seemed to stay off as would-be dieters ended up rebounding while engorging themselves on chocolate chip cookies.
2. Doorbuster Buster.
This fitness craze started up during the holidays last year. Customers took it upon themselves to break into stores early to get those deals and get some exercise in the process. While this did result in some good exercise, local law enforcement decided it was better to exercise in the fitness yard at the local penitentiary vs. breaking and entering for health purposes.
3. Prancing Through The Mall.
While this may be a fun and you think it will get you a discount because employees will think you’re awesome, you may want to rethink your plan. You’re liable to get some looks and even video taken of your escapades by random customers and mall workers. So unless you want internet fame for prancing like a horse through the mall, stay away!
4. Coupon Binder Shopping Tag.
This crazy fitness program encouraged coupon gurus from all walks of life to hit random grocery shoppers over the head with coupon binders, when there was a lack of coupon usage. It was seen as a great way to stay fit, and encourage good money saving habits.
Doctors were so appalled at the increase of head injury visits to emergency rooms, that they quickly discontinued recommending this fitness program.
