I’m such a bargain hunter when it comes to clothing, jewelry and other accessories! But I’m also very particular in what I buy. Despite the fact that I’m frugal, I don’t like to sacrifice in the fashion department.
I have a few techniques and strategies that I use for finding great fashion without breaking the bank! Here are a few of my favorite ways to save on great clothing.
1. The Thrift Shop. Poppin’ tags has always been the cool thing to do in my book. But thanks to Macklemore, it’s even popular among celebrities now! Thrift shops can save you a ton of money, and you can be fashionable if you know how to shop:
Look for those thrift shops that aren’t necessarily chains. While Goodwill has been known to provide me with some amazing finds, I usually find my best bargains at smaller, out-of-the-way thrift stores in my area. Find them all, and figure out which ones are your favorites as far as price and style go.
2. The Coupon. Have you seen those coupons that come in the mail or newspaper for places like Kohls and Rue 21? Man I love those coupons! $10 off a $20 purchase always gets me a good bargain, as I’ll use it on some nice accessories!
3. The Ross. I’m just gonna come right out and say that, next to thrift shops, Ross is my favorite store for finding dresses. If I have any type of event, I know I can head to Ross and am pretty much guaranteed to find a fabulous dress for under $20. And a lot of the time, I find a dress there for under $10!
4. The Consignment Sales. You’ve seen those consignment sales advertised in your area and on social channels right? I love getting stuff not only for myself, but especially so for the kids at consignment sales. Every Fall and Spring I head to a local consignment sale and stock up on clothing for the kids for that season. It saves me a ton of money, and especially saves me time since I can buy everything they need in one day.
Are you a thrifty fashionista? How do you find bargains on clothing? Do you have any favorite hot spots in your area where you grab the best deals? I’d love to hear about it!
