Workout on a budget with Groupon and LivingSocial


Not many of us are inclined to go to the gym day-in and day-out. If you do, then you probably don’t need to read further. But hold up, you may be interested in learning how to spice up your workout regimen without having to fork over hundreds of dollars to try out new exercise classes that apparently helped celebrities become a size 2 overnight. Right?

I’ve learned that I’m one of those people that have to try a little bit of everything because I get bored easily. Since I don’t have all the money in the world and must stay within a specific budget, I turn to Groupon and LivingSocial to get my groove on.

Since there aren’t any long-term commitments and prices that are so deeply discounted, it’s worth trying out whatever your heart desires. If you don’t like it, no harm done and you move onto the next.

Here are 4 exercise classes I was able to get via Groupon and LivingSocial for up to 85% off it’s retail value:
1. Hot Yoga or also known as Bikram Yoga. I have been a long-time fan of this yoga performed in a heated room that goes up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. For 90 minutes, you go from posture to posture which is suppose to help support your body’s organs function at its optimal strength. On both deal sites, I’ve gotten one month unlimited classes deal for $39 ($150 value) which came out to be a 74% savings.

2. Flying Trapeze. While you may think this is not a form of exercise, it totally works out your entire body. You go up on a swing and learn how to ultimately let go and catch the instructor’s arms. If your into extreme sports, this one has your name spelled all over it. I had so much fun doing it, but man, my whole body was in pain the next day. To save even more money, I got a 2 person deal which came out to be $37.50 per person ($57 value), a 34% savings.

3. AntiGravity Aeriel Yoga. I like yoga in general, but because I’ve danced my whole life and was a gymnast, I like to do things that challenge me beyond a pose or stretch. Just like the name, you do poses in a hammock that acts like a trapeze. It relieves compressed joints and aligns the body from head to toe. I feel like a baby when I am doing it! I paid $39 for 5 classes ($125 value), a 69% savings.

4. Piloxing. Pilates and Boxing.
A match made in fitness heaven. I have to forewarn you that this isn’t for the weak hearted. This kicked my butt! I was sweating, breathing hard and holding onto my water bottle half the time. You do a little Pilates, interval training, dance, jabs and I can’t remember what I didn’t do. The music is hot and it keeps your heart pumping at a steady-fast rate. I really enjoyed my cool down period and the Pilates portion of it because a girl’s gotta catch her breath. I was lucky to take a free trial class, but I could have gotten a Groupon offer for $29 (series of 10 classes, $200 value), an 85% savings.
