Odds and Ends
Image by Wonderlane via FlickrThere are some people who hate change and some people who love change. I happen to be one of those people that loves change. I'd rearrange my furniture every month and redecorate every year if my budget would allow for it. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

Money Saving Tips
Image by reiner.kraft via FlickrThis is my favorite time of year! December is a busy month full of time spent with family and friends. People go out of their way to spread a little extra holiday cheer. And homes are decorated beautifully. There are so many beautiful trees and lights.
And while some people are sad to see Christmas end, I'm always excited about the thought of the new year. 2012 is just around the corner. It's a time for fresh beginnings and new starts! It's a time to turn your dreams into realities.
This week, my husband and I will sit down and create our budget for 2012. We'll assess 2011, figure out what worked, what didn't work, and what we can do better. One of the items that is now a must in our budget is our home decor/home improvement budget.
This is one of the areas that people often overlook in their budget, especially when they have limited funds. Amazingly enough, it's one of those areas where a little money can go a long way. By setting aside a little money each month, you can transform your home into a place you love to be.
Here are some great ways to make your home look a little fresher without spending a ton of money.

Shop Smarter
Image by normanack via FlickrI know it may seem a little premature to plan for after-Christmas sales, but a little planning can go a long way in helping you save money. While many of you regularly head out the day after Christmas to purchase typical Christmas items
(wrapping paper, ornaments, etc.), there are many other items that are deeply discounted after Christmas and many of these items can be used all year long.
Here are 5 home decor items that you can get for a steal after Christmas:

By helenhgordon 5 months ago Yes, I just wrote you about the $5 per pair I am supposed to receive from purchasing 2 pairs of shoes from page 5. How do you apply that discount?

By helenhgordon 5 months ago The deals seem quite reasonable. I need extra wide shoes, so I'm glad to find such an assortment of sizes.

By helenhgordon 5 months ago On page 5 of your catalog you said I would get $5 off each pair of shoes if I ordered 2 on that page. I ordered 2 pairs (hunter and burgundy) of the Angel Steps low-heeled pumps. I don't see any place where the $5 was deducted from the $24.99 price for each pair.
Thanks for helping.
