Apple announced the release date for the
iPhone 4S, it was destined
to be at the top of many a Christmas list, right alongside the
iPad 2. It was also a foregone
conclusion that countless third party companies would try to elbow their
way into the market with their own iPhone 4S accessories.

Okay. Deep breaths, everyone. Despite months and months of rumor and some pretty decent evidence to the contrary,
Apple did not announce an
iPhone 5 today. Instead, the company unveiled a slightly updated iPhone 4, dubbed the iPhone 4S.
That sound you hear is several hundred million Apple fanboys weeping.
That other sound you hear is several thousand bloggers registering their discontent.
I, for one, am not going to pile on. While I'm disappointed there's no next-gen iPhone, I'm still perfectly happy with the model I own now. In fact, Apple did me a favor by allowing me to keep my credit card in my wallet.
And the day wasn't a total bust. Apple's 90-minute event did reveal some interesting news, products, and updates. They were merely overshadowed by shattered expectations.
So, let's take a look at the five things Apple got right today.

This week we've got Bank of America's new fees, the listeria outbreak, the Kindle Fire, the Wall Street protests, feeding a family of five on $100, tips for winning the lottery, and cats eating weird things.

Spotlight Deals
If you've never tried
Netflix before but always wondered what all the fuss was about, now's the perfect time to find out. For a limited time, Netflix is offering a
one-month free trial of its streaming service. Usually it's just 14 days.

By snarkydeals 6 months ago I always wait for a buy something get something deal, but I do tend to head over to MacMall instead, where you can get high quality refurbs and discounts on killer Apple products. However, if you're a student/teacher, their education deal is totes worth looking into.

By SavingsIQ 2 months ago I love Apple products. Ever since I got my Mac, I can never go back to using a PC. Definitely try and use the education discount if you're a student. They offer good back to school deals every year where they will throw in a free iPod or something with a new MacBook purchase.
