Holidays
We're approaching Father's Day, and once again you have no
idea what to get your dad. He's all set on the traditional ties and socks, and
he's still working his way through the treasure trove of books you got him from
Christmas. Moreover, your parents are trying to downsize and get rid of stuff
they don't need, so the last thing they want is some new gadget taking up
space.

I am not a coffee connoisseur, but I nonetheless manage to be a little bit of a coffee snob. I like dark roasts, but not too dark. Flavorful, but not flavored. I do not like for my coffee to taste over-roasted (
i.e. burnt) or stale. That said, I don't roast my own, or even grind my own. I buy beans and grind them at the store. I tend toward Italian roasts, and usually drink Americanos (
espresso mixed with hot water). I take my coffee black.
On the other hand, I've been known to enjoy a cup of weak diner coffee, sitting on the hot plate for far too long, with the flavor drowned in milk (
and sometimes sugar).
I was a little apprehensive when
Coffee Beanery sent me some coffees for review. I needn't have been, however--while they will most likely never become my favorite coffees, they are better than many "gourmet" coffees I've tried.
