Stuff We Like
While William Shatner may spend his free time roasting Charlie Sheen, his alter ego is busy exploring strange new worlds and going where no man has gone before--at least in re-runs on TV.
Imagine Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise piercing through a wormhole into our galaxy, here and now. While missions of Starfleet are to explore new worlds, we are not new, just a part of their history. What would Captain Kirk do if he landed on earth today? Talk to President Obama? Check out N.A.S.A.?
Considering how much he loves romance (or women, more specifically), he might take a female officer out on a dinner date. Spock and Bones would attempt to stop Kirk from mixing with the local inhabitants, but the captain has a tendency to ignore Starfleet regulations.
Which present-day restaurant would Captain Kirk take a crewmember (or green woman--whomever is available...) on a dinner date?

Money Saving Tips
Now that Christmas is over, it's time to ramp up for the other big celebration: New Year's Eve. We know that restaurants and bars take advantage of this holiday by raising prices on dinners and drinks and calling them "package deals" Some people can afford it and are willing to go all out on December 31st, but others are looking for something low-key and low-cost.
If you're in the latter group, I've got some ways that you can celebrate NYE without breaking the bank.

Money Saving Tips
So it's my third wedding anniversary tonight. We got married just two days after Christmas in a lovely snow covered little chapel in New England. It was beautiful, but now we are stuck celebrating our anniversary every year after already blowing our money on presents for everyone else.
And so we usually have very little to spend on each other.

Spotlight Deals
I shop online all day long with Savings.com, and occasionally I actually leave the house to buy things locally. But from Thanksgiving till Christmas I try to avoid the crowds at the stores as much as possible. And let's face it, there are plenty of people in this modern world who are not really friends or family members but who you feel compelled to get gifts for.

Money Saving Tips
Who loves food? Who loves dining out at new restaurants? Who loves saving money while doing so? Well, I'm here with some sites that are all about helping you eat out for less. One even gives you cash back! I've written about
free apps for foodies and
fine dining without breaking the bank.
This week I've got some new foodie sites for you.
By snarkydeals 9 months ago Gotta love the Chang's. Their vegetarian options are amazing, which is a must for me. A lot healthier than the alternatives (I'm looking at you, Pickup Stix and Panda Express...) if you share your meal. Try the vegetarian lettuce wraps! Mmm, now I'm hungry.
