Last week, Savings.com blogger Allegra clued us into KFC's misguided
attempt to do something nice: selling huge
sodas for a diabetes charity.
Needless to say, their move did not not create the desired reaction, and laughs were had by (nearly) all.
Well, it's another week, and the trend continues as various purveyors of
junk foods run afoul of the media. Read on to discover my personal
favorites.

Freebies
Kids love stuff, they don't care if you pay top dollar for it
or if it's free. This is your lucky week because the freebies
for babies and kids are stacking up again.
You get to choose from free printable coloring books, free kids
meals, free Gogo's Crazy Bones, online games, free poison help
magnet (
has Poison Control's 800 number on it),
Sesame Street videos
on demand from
Amazon, free internet browser just for kids to
keep them on kid-friendly sites and a free ticket to the circus for
kids one year old or younger.
Get the kids occupied so you can browse the list, you'll find
something you and the kids will want. It's all FREE!

Money Saving Tips
Now that Christmas is over, it's time to ramp up for the other big celebration: New Year's Eve. We know that restaurants and bars take advantage of this holiday by raising prices on dinners and drinks and calling them "package deals" Some people can afford it and are willing to go all out on December 31st, but others are looking for something low-key and low-cost.
If you're in the latter group, I've got some ways that you can celebrate NYE without breaking the bank.
