So you should have seen the purse at a discounted sale price without having to use a code. I Joined savings .com to get a coupon for Vera Bradley. After filling everything out, it said, Congratulations,your deal has been activated and the discount will be applied at checkout. There was a spot for a code number but I didn't receive one, so I ordered the backpack without receiving the discount.

When I added a product to my cart, it said "merchandise: $78, estimate sales tax 0, estimated total: $83.95" Is that the same situation you're referring to? If so, it's because they're taking shipping into account - they just don't show you the shipping price until the next page. If you click "check out," it will take you to the next page and show you the price for shipping, which, together with your merchandise total, should equal your total purchase amount.

The "coupon" says Vera Bradley small cooler $15.00 all colors. When I clicked on "Activate Coupon", the item appears, but the price is given as $21.00. Why? Has the special price expired? Why don't they say so?
