Today is a pretty momentous day in the world of gaming: It is the day that
Gamestop gets into the tablet game and releases game-specific Android devices. This is a bold step that could change the state of video game retailing as well as tablet gaming in general. Or it could be, using the parlance of the gaming world, an epic fail. Today we'll take a quick peek behind the curtain of America's largest game retailer's foray into the hardware market.

Stuff We Like
I don't know about you, but I hate scalp-burn. You know, when your head gets sunburned? It's worse than being burnt almost anywhere else, especially annoying when you start to peel--and yes there is a point to this gross rant—and it's just awful to have. So I always have to wear a hat when I'm outdoors for long periods of time (

Loose Change
Shopping for a new laptop can be a daunting task. No doubt you've taken to the Web in search of product reviews and killer deals (
Savings.com is always a good place to start, ahem), but many buyers find their heads swimming in a sea of uncertainty. What brand is best? What features are most important? Should I buy a netbook?
I get these kinds of questions all the time from friends and family members, so I've whipped up this handy guide to laptop shopping.

Shop Smarter
I must admit, I'm not willing to part with a buck until absolutely necessary. I spend $300 on my last laptop in June of '08 and I've held out on looking at a new PC--even after I've seen the shiny new Windows 7 models my friends are coming up with.
But the "Blue Screen of Death" hit my PC three times last week, despite regular maintenance and optimization. But no maintenance in the world can stop a three-year-old's wrath. So, rather than back up my PC every day, it may be time to start looking at a new laptop. Since deals are changing all the time, it never hurts to shop around.
I also thought it might be fun to bring you along to see how I find the best deals whenever I shop online.
