Does anyone know about cocker spaniel chihuahua mix puppies? I saw an adorable one at the pound and was thinking of adopting.
I have a 2 year old son so I want a good, sweet dog. Any feedback would be great. Thanks

Chihuahuas especially can have very different personalities from dog to dog. I have 3 rescues here. One a full Dachshund (as far as I can tell), one a Dachshund? Beagle? mix, and one mystery dog that may be part Dachshund, may be part Chihuahua, but definitely part some kind of bull dog. All three of them are sweet, but one of them can be a little aggressive and I wouldn't want a 2 year old around. All I can say is use your best judgment. |

I saw an adorable one at the pound and was thinking of adopting.My neighbor told me that small dogs like chihuahuas are usually not really good with kids. I don't know if that's true or not, because I never had a chihuahua, but I always had English cocker spaniels while growing up and all three of them were super sweet and great with kids. My 4 year daughter is crazy about dogs and she gets along great with my mom's cocker spaniel. If I was getting a dog for my daughter I think I would go with a lab, golden retriever mix or something similar, because they are usually great with kids. |

I saw an adorable one at the pound and was thinking of adopting.hopefully its not too late for you to see this. i had a cocker spaniel part chiahuahua mixed dog who actually just passed away yesturday. he was hands down the best dog you could ever have. he was very cuddly and kid friendly (i have a 3 year old nephew who always played with him). he was very polite and loveable. he was a little smaller than an average sized spaniel. a friend of ours got his brother and same characteristics reside in him. I 100% highly reccommend this mix especially for a kid to grow up with like i grew up with mine! |

She was the best dog, smartest most obedient dog i have ever had she live 16 years. She was buf colored, she looked like a very small cocker-spaniel. Man i miss her :( . But these are wonderful with children, my 2 children grew up with Buffy. the children left for college same year and buffy died the next spring. My daughter said "she was like the sister i never had. I highly recommend this breed of dog. |
