I need to find an affordable 3D art software, complete with figures and models. What's the best out there in terms of price?

It depends on what software your looking for. Google offers a 3D software package called Google Sketch-Up. It is cheap, and you have access to thousands of free user uploaded models via Google's 3D Warehouse. The imagery is of lower quality compared to high end packages like Cinema 4D, 3DS Max, or Maya... but it may be worth taking a look at depending on your needs.

If you are in need of something more high-end, I would suggest looking into Maxon's Cinema 4D. This 3D software package is quickly becoming a power player in the Computer Graphics industry, and is priced usually around 500+ dollars below rival packages. All major 3D packages usually offer a demo/trial period, so I would suggest looking into a few before making a decision.

After you purchase your 3D software package, I would head over to TurboSquid.com. TurboSquid offers completed 3D models that can be purchased at great prices. Just be sure to check the file format of your intended purchase... you want to be sure your buying a model that is compatible with your 3D program.

Sketchup costs $49 per year. Cinema 4D is still around $200 (cheapest version, highest is almost $900). For $47 you can buy a solid 3D program that is not a demo, trial or license (like Sketchup). It's called IllusionMage and has same structural basics as Pixar and Dreamworks! You can do anything 3D in it, from animations to solid body sketches. http://illusionmage3dd.blogspot.com/ Check it out. Guranteed 100% to work there's even a 60 day policy.

Illusion Mage is a rip-off of Blender. Blender is an open source 3D program that is free, Illusion Mage is basically Blender, but repackaged and is being sold for profit. If you want a free 3D program go with Blender... http://www.blender.org. If you want to pay for Blender, then by all means buy Illusion Mage. If you do a google search on Illusion Mage, you'll see what I mean. There is a lot of fake reviews glorifying Illusion Mage, but don't be fooled... the program is a rip off of Blender.
